Due to Covid-19 and the recession, families across the country have seen their incomes shrink or disappear. Many are struggling to feed their children. But despite huge public pressure, the government has refused to extend free school meals in England over the holidays.

But all is not lost. Councils across the country have been stepping up and pledging to feed disadvantaged children over the holidays by extending their free school meals programmes to include the school holidays.

Sadly, Cambridgeshire County Council is not yet one of those councils.
