This petition is calling for community support to encourage, Government at State and Local Level to effectively mitigate the risk posed to pedestrians at the intersection of Aura Boulevard and Eden Drive Baringa. 

Too frequently are cars running red lights at this intersection. The 60kmh speed zone is inappropriate for school times given the hundreds of students from Baringa State School, Baringa Secondary College, Unity College and other surrounding schools that utilise the crossing and intersection daily.

Historically there has been a number of near misses involving pedestrians and vehicles, along with a recent traffic accident that involved a out of control car, plowing through the pedestrian barrier at the intersection.

Change is required to better protect the safety and welfare of pedestrians at the location.

It is my fear that a major accident is inevitable and may result in the death or serious injury of a pedestrian at the intersection.
