Minor victory - Today, Wed. Jan. 8 - L.A. City Planning Hearing on the 758 Sunset Ave. project - over 400 petition signatures & 17 letters received in opposition, 8 people spoke against the project, 14 people total attended in support of our side. The Chair of the meeting told the applicant to go back to the community to get further input, but he chose to go forward with the public hearing today, instead. As a result City Planning decided to take no action on the project and again told the applicant to go back to the Venice community and get more input for the project, Many thanks to EVERYONE who participated by signing our petition, writing letters, making phone calls and showing up at the hearing Please be prepared for more action in the not too distant future - it's not over yet - so far, it has stalled at City Planning (a good thing) and now the applicant has to come back to Venice to get more input for the project - so please stay active and tuned for more info.
