The Issue

This petition is open to all current and former parents and carers connected to Christopher Hatton Primary School.

We are reaching out as a community of families who care deeply about our children and their school. Christopher Hatton has always been a place where diversity, kindness, and community spirit were at the heart of everything. Many of us chose this school because we believed in those values and we still believe in what this school can be.

Recently, however, a growing number of parents, both past and present, have shared concerns about the direction the school’s leadership has taken. Some families feel their voices have not been heard, their children not fully supported, or important decisions made without proper communication. Others have experienced situations that left them feeling worried, dismissed, or isolated.

Concerns Raised by Members of the School Community - Parents and carers have reported repeated experiences These concerns include, but are not limited to:

•decisions made about children without parental consultation or consent

•inconsistent or disproportionate disciplinary actions, including exclusions

•children being excluded from trips or educational activities insufficient support for pupils with behavioural, emotional, or additional needs

•communication from leadership that feels dismissive, hostile, or unsupportive a school environment that does not feel inclusive, particularly for

•single-parent households,
families from diverse racial backgrounds, and families from lower socioeconomic groups

These issues have resulted in a loss of confidence in the school’s leadership, raising concerns about safeguarding, equality, inclusion, and the overall wellbeing of pupils.

We know that speaking up can be difficult. Many parents remain quiet because they are afraid of backlash, don’t want conflict, or feel their concerns won’t matter. That is why this petition exists not to blame, but to ensure that every child and every family is treated with fairness, respect, and understanding.

We are simply asking for an independent investigation by Camden Local Authority and the school’s Governing Board so that:

•Every child receives the support they need

•Parents feel listened to and involved
the school can return to being a place where all families feel welcome and valued

•Trust between parents and leadership can be rebuilt

This petition is not about attacking individuals.

It is about protecting children, strengthening our school, and making sure that no family feels alone.

Many of the concerns raised are not new and span across families whose children are now in secondary school, families who moved schools, and families whose children were excluded. These experiences show a pattern that deserves proper attention and understanding so improvements can be made.

We believe that by coming together calmly, respectfully, and with unity we can help create positive, lasting change for all children.

What We Are Asking For:

•We respectfully request an independent review into leadership decisions, communication, and the support provided to pupils.

•A full evaluation of the school’s behaviour, inclusion, SEND, and safeguarding practices, to ensure every child’s needs are met.

•Clear and open communication with parents about what will be done to rebuild trust and improve the culture of the school.

Why Your Signature Matters:

Many parents feel unsure about speaking up, especially when leadership holds authority.

Your signature  even if anonymous shows that you care about:

•fairness
•equality
•your child’s safety and wellbeing
and the future of this school

Signing does not mean you are attacking anyone.

It means you believe in transparency, accountability, and positive change.

Every signature strengthens our collective voice and tells Camden Council and the Governors:

“Our children deserve a school where they feel safe, included, supported, and understood.”

By standing together as a community  gently, respectfully, and united we can help Christopher Hatton become the environment our children deserve. One where families are embraced, differences are celebrated, and leadership works hand-in-hand with parents for the good of every child.

Please sign this petition and help us make Christopher Hatton Primary School a place of warmth, fairness, and opportunity for all families today and in the years to come. Sign this petition and help make our voices heard.
