Call to Eliminate Artificial Dyes and Sugary Cereals Sold in Wake Co School Cafeterias

Call to Eliminate Artificial Dyes and Sugary Cereals Sold in Wake Co School Cafeterias
The Issue
Our nation's children are in a health crisis. Autism, ADD, ADHD, diabetes and more are increasingly on the rise. Despite the documented negative impact of artificial food dyes and sugar on behavior, all of these diagnoses (not to mention long term health), Wake County Schools offer foods at breakfast and lunch that are full of these harmful ingredients. Foods like Lucky Charms, Welch's Fruit Snacks and Cheeto's are offered and even displayed prominently at checkout. Our children are stocking up on junk food with artificial dyes and consuming well beyond the recommended limit of 24 grams or less of added sugar a day through foods at their schools. It's appalling. Please sign this petition to let Wake County Schools know it's not okay. Let them know you want foods with artificial food dyes and ridiculously high sugar-y cereals removed from their cafeterias. Our children deserve better!!!
