Call to Action: Commence Development of Half Life 3

The Issue

Petition Statement:

We, the undersigned, earnestly implore Mr. Gabe Newell, esteemed co-founder and managing director of Valve Corporation, to initiate the long-awaited development of Half Life 3. As dedicated fans of the groundbreaking Half Life series, we believe that the time has come for the continuation of this iconic franchise, which has left an indelible mark on the gaming industry and has captivated the hearts and minds of millions worldwide.

Reasoning:

Half Life, introduced to the gaming world in 1998, revolutionized the first-person shooter genre with its immersive storytelling, innovative gameplay mechanics, and unparalleled level design. Its sequel, Half Life 2, released in 2004, further solidified the series' legendary status, garnering widespread critical acclaim and numerous accolades.

Since the release of Half Life 2: Episode Two in 2007, fans have eagerly awaited the next installment in the series, fervently anticipating the continuation of the captivating narrative and the exploration of the rich, dystopian world crafted by Valve. Despite the passage of time, the desire for Half Life 3 remains as fervent as ever, as evidenced by the countless fan creations, discussions, and petitions circulating within the gaming community.

If we are to exclude the insulting cliffhanger of Episode 2 and count the years since Half Life 2 instead, which was released in 2004, then it has been a total of 20 years and counting for fans around the globe awaiting Half Life 3's release.

It is our firm belief that the development of Half Life 3 represents not only a continuation of a beloved franchise but also an opportunity to push the boundaries of storytelling, technology, and gameplay mechanics in the medium of video games. With Valve's unparalleled expertise and resources, we are confident that Half Life 3 has the potential to redefine the gaming landscape and captivate a new generation of players.

Mr. Gabe Newell could change the world by fulfilling his original commitment to develop Half Life 3, if he should choose to. Instead, he has fed off of the salty tears shed by an uncountable number of people around the world. Empires have literally risen and fallen in a period of 20 years. There is no doubt that a portion of Valve's most dedicated of fans have lived and died awaiting its release, to their very final breath. Instead he cowers in the deep recesses of Valve's office building reading Half Life 3 fanfiction while mocking loyal fans in the most cruel and heartless manner imaginable. There is no earthly reason why Mr. Newell should not fulfill his commitment to gamers around the world and it is an insult to the video game industry collectively.

Conclusion:

In light of the enduring legacy of the Half Life series and the unwavering support of its dedicated fanbase, we respectfully urge Mr. Gabe Newell and Valve Corporation to heed our call and commence the development of Half Life 3. By doing so, Valve will not only fulfill the dreams of millions of fans but also reaffirm its commitment to innovation, creativity, and excellence in game development.

Let us unite our voices and demonstrate the overwhelming demand for Half Life 3. Together, we can usher in a new era of gaming excellence and ensure that the legacy of Half Life continues to thrive for generations to come.

Thank you for your attention and consideration.

Sincerely,

Bailey Pillon
