In May 2025, Earth Frequency Festival announced Infected Mushroom for their 20th anniversary. What followed was a powerful grassroots campaign - email drives and community pressure demanding the festival honour its values of care and accountability. EFF acknowledged these concerns, and while they did not cancel the act, Infected Mushroom soon withdrew. The outcome proves that collective mobilisation works: artists tied to militarism and settler nationalism can be deplatformed, and genocide-washing will not be tolerated on the dance floor.

Why Infected Mushroom must be cancelled

Infected Mushroom are not “just a band.” They act as cultural ambassadors of zionist ideology, using their branding, partnerships, and performances to normalise israeli settler-colonialism, military violence, and the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Since October 7, Infected Mushroom have:

• Performed at zionist-funded grief events on occupied land, tied directly to IDF fundraising.
• Headlined shows at settler-tourism sites such as Kfar Hanokdim, built on stolen Bedouin land in Ras al-Naqab.
• Co-produced overtly nationalist music such as Dance Forever (with Omer Adam), a militaristic anthem that raised funds for IDF-linked charities.
• Fundraised for the tel aviv Foundation and Tribe of Nova, both tied to rearmament and military initiatives.
• Released visuals and maps that erase Gaza and the West Bank entirely.

Their silence on the genocide in Gaza is not neutral - it is strategic complicity. To continue platforming them is a betrayal of any claimed values of inclusivity, justice, or decolonisation.

Our Demand

• We call on all venues, promoters, and festivals across so-called Australia to:
• Cancel Infected Mushroom’s 2025 shows immediately.
• Issue a public statement disavowing cultural complicity in genocide.
• Commit to a vetting process that screens future acts for ties to apartheid, occupation, or military aggression.

A stage is not neutral. Platforming zionism is complicity.
