Call on the UN Action Now: Peace, Human Rights, and Self-Determination for Kashmir
The Issue
UN Action Now: Peace, Human Rights, and Self-Determination for Kashmir
Petition to the United Nations, the United Nations Human Rights Council, and the International Community
For decades, the people of Kashmir have endured conflict, political uncertainty, and widespread allegations of human rights violations. Families have lived under fear, restrictions on civil liberties, and prolonged instability that has affected generations.
The unresolved status of Kashmir remains one of the longest-standing international issues on the global agenda. Numerous resolutions and commitments have emphasized the need for a peaceful and just solution that respects the rights, dignity, and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Despite these commitments, meaningful progress toward peace, accountability, and self-determination has remained limited. Civilians continue to face challenges including restrictions on freedom of expression, limited political participation, economic hardship, and concerns about the protection of fundamental human rights.
The international community has a responsibility to uphold universal principles of justice, human rights, and peaceful conflict resolution.
We therefore urge the United Nations and relevant international institutions to take urgent and constructive action to address the humanitarian, political, and human rights situation in Kashmir.
Our Key Demands
1. Immediate international attention and monitoring
2. Deploy independent international human rights observers to monitor and report on the situation in Kashmir.
3. Protection of human rights and civil liberties
Ensure the protection of fundamental freedoms including freedom of expression, assembly, 4. movement, and access to information.
5. Peaceful dialogue and conflict resolution
6. Facilitate constructive and peaceful dialogue between all relevant parties to reduce tensions and prevent further escalation.
7. Accountability and justice
8. Support transparent investigations into alleged human rights violations and ensure accountability under international law.
9.Respect for the right to self-determination
10. Promote a peaceful and democratic process that allows the people of Kashmir to determine their political future in accordance with international principles and past UN commitments.
Why This Petition Matters
Peace, dignity, and justice are universal rights that must be protected for all people. A sustainable solution for Kashmir requires global attention, constructive diplomacy, and a renewed commitment to international law.
By signing this petition, you are calling on global leaders and the United Nations to prioritize peace, human rights, and justice for the people of Kashmir.
