I am a veteran with a sincere concern for the future of our nation. My spouse is a teacher, and together we represent the hard-working middle class in our society. It is our shared belief and experience that President Donald Trump's actions have not only detrimentally affected our personal lives but have major impacts on us all. We are facing challenging times, and leadership that perpetuates division is not what we need. 

President Trump may believe that he's protecting our country and stimulating our economy. However, the core values that hold us together, the social systems that protect the most vulnerable among us, and our reputation on the world stage are all at stake. This is why we must appeal to our representatives, the guardians of the constitution, to initiate impeachment procedures.

Let us base our appeal on hard but necessary fact-checks. According to the Washington Post, as of August 2020, President Trump has been responsible for over 20,000 misleading boasts or outright false statements in office. CNN reported that in his first term alone, he has faced at least 13 investigations, including impeachment-related inquiries. These are not the marks of a leader who champions truth, transparency, and trust.

Former President Donald Trump is once again pushing reckless policies that threaten global stability and America’s standing in the world. His aggressive tariff plans against other nations are not just misguided economic strategies—they are provocation that could escalate into a full-blown trade war, if not something worse. His rhetoric and actions are edging us dangerously close to World War 3, as he stokes tensions with allies and adversaries alike.

Rather than addressing real issues that impact Americans, Trump is instead focused on absurd distractions—renaming the Gulf of Mexico, reclaiming the Panama Canal, and even pursuing the bizarre idea of taking over Greenland. These outlandish ambitions highlight his detachment from reality and his willingness to stoke nationalist fantasies at the expense of serious governance.

Meanwhile, his agenda includes dismantling key elements of our nation's critical institutions, undermining the very systems that keep our government functioning. From gutting essential departments to sidelining experts, his vision for America is one of chaos and destruction.

Trump's return to power did not mean "America First"—it became America isolated, destabilized, and at risk. His reckless policies, unserious distractions, and authoritarian impulses must be called out for what they are: a direct threat to our nation’s security, economy, and global leadership.

 So, we make a plea for the impeachment of President Donald Trump. Not grounded in personal malice but on a well-justified concern for the welfare of our nation.
