Our petition was featured on the CKPG Evening News, which originally aired on December 3 and was uploaded to their YouTube channel two days later. This coverage has helped raise awareness about the safety concerns on Jail Hill and the need for improvements.

The segment about our petition starts at 8 minutes and 45 seconds into the episode, and it played a key role in bringing attention to the urgent need for safety improvements on this dangerous stretch of Highway 16. Here’s the link to the broadcast: https://youtu.be/L8KphTIazN4?si=G7Sr8jUXQtXpaIX4

At the time of this update, we have 642 signatures, and the petition is on its 6th day.

Today, I reached out to the BC Wildlife Conservation Foundation and Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Environment, to see if they can provide any support.  I am also planning to contact ICBC to inquire about accident or wildlife collision data in the area. Since ICBC doesn’t have an email address for general inquiries, I will try calling them in the near future to see if they can provide any help or information.

Thank you for your continued support as we work toward making this stretch of Highway 16 safer for both drivers and wildlife. Please continue to sign and share the petition.
