Hello Fellow Citizens,

 

It has been a long time since we last corresponded, but I am back!!!  I want to thank those who have continued to organize in sharing this petition in my absence, and deep appreciation to you all for the resounding response that there has been in this ongoing effort to demand Mike Lee resign.

What have I been up to you may ask?  Well, there is a lot of local organizing and good trouble in my hometown.  I have been working on protest events, civic engagement, mutual aid, political engagement/education and much more, in Utah there is much to be done as there is around the US, I’m sure you can all relate.  

This brings us to the next chapter for this petition.  It is time to expand this petition to a national level.  This decision comes in the wake of all the shenanigans that Mike Lee has been up to both locally and nationally.  Senator Lee reveals himself to be a main pillar of support to Donald Trump’s vendetta to gerrymander the nation, and I wish to change that.

Currently, in Utah you may be aware of the Utah State GOP effort to circumvent Proposition 4, Utah Supreme Court rulings and District Court rulings regarding republican gerrymandering and congressional district maps in Utah.  State republicans spearheaded by none other than Mike Lee are currently working through public hearings and red tape, to create a direct ballot initiative to potentially repeal prop 4 and the resulting court battles.  Ben Winslow of Fox 13 SLC quotes Executive Director Elizabeth Rassumssen of Better Boundaries,

"This is yet another attempt to overturn the will of the people. These are desperate, transparent attempts to run out the clock, obstruct court-ordered reforms, and confuse the public ahead of 2026. They do nothing to serve Utahns — only to protect gerrymandered power."

The UT GOP asserts that the UT Supreme Court is in overreach on the issue and has created a state constitutional crisis.  I believe it is a matter of lack of will by the Utah state legislature and pressure from Donald Trump to gerrymander that is the actual crisis.  The senator inserts undue executive pressure from Trump, and lots of big money donors into Utah local state elections through these recent actions; and let’s not forget the SAVE Act he is peddling.  

This is the latest in the Trump administrations authoritarian power grab all over the United States and inserts federal influence into local politics everywhere.  

Of course, Mikey is still up to no good regarding his social media barrage and addiction.  Mr. Lee recently doxed a group of Arizona math teachers. https://youtu.be/MiwL10sDUEY?si=rCP8tnY0T-ennFyY Lee has continually bullied many people online from all walks of life outside of Utah.  This is not representation of Utah and its Constituents.

 

Together we can create enormous pressure on him to resign. Because of his ongoing scatological posts, bad governance, overall betrayal of his constituents and bullying of our neighbors around the United States. Together, let’s take out a pillar of support to the Trump administration.  

What you can do:

·       Share and post this petition all over the nation 1-3 times per week both in person and online.  

·       Identify outlets and pages that you can post to about this effort.  

·       Share with family, friends, and groups that are interested in maintaining democracy.  

·       Add a description of Mikes behavior that effects the national conversation that will garner attention and that you find personally offensive.

·       Include a call to sign the petition.

·       Include the direct link to the petition in the post.

 

The main goals moving forward:

·       Extend this campaign nationally.

·       Increase the number of signatures to hundreds of thousands, depending on the response we may raise it over time and outline new benchmarks while celebrating along the way.

·       Garner massive pressure and exposure to Mike Lee to resign by creating national media attention.

·       Inspire Mikey to Resign!
