Hi everyone, 

I'm sure you all saw the budget announcement today and have seen that this petition clearly didn't have the desired outcome. 

It's disappointing to see that not only did Rachel Reeves not unfreeze tax bands early, but she went even further and extended the freeze until 2031! 

This is a setback, but it's not the end of our fight. I've been doing petitions for years, I think all we need here is a small pivot and then we continue the fight. 

I'm going to change the focus of this petition to getting Labour to backtrack on the extension and return to the promise of unfreezing tax bands by 2028. This is the best we can hope for now I think. Then, we'll keep fighting! We'll raise more awareness for this petition and put pressure on labour to remove this ridiculous extension!
