Why is the BRAID study important?
Because it is studying the best screening tools on 'dense breasts'.
What does this mean?
It means that if you attend breast screening at one of the study sites (in towns below), and your breasts are dense, then you may be invited to participate in the study, and following your mammogram, you may be offered additional screening. The BRAID study is finding cancers in dense breasts, but it ends soon - end of March 2024.
The BRAID study sites: still recruiting women in some screening centres in: Cambridge, Manchester, Cheltenham, Leeds, London (Royal Free), Leicester (info below).
Equally, if you do not live in these towns, still book your mammogram appointment - and Ask About Your Breast Density.
