Call for Action! Let us Start the Change we Need

The Issue

I have worked with many youth organizations and witnessed firsthand their transformation into vibrant and dynamic communities. Similarly, I've seen the same passion in the young cyclists of Guyana, whose potential should be nourished and supported, not stifled. However, the current governance under Horace Burrowes has been detrimentally biased and exclusive, benefiting only those in close proximity to him. This favoritism not only curtails the growth of countless cyclists but jeopardizes the future of cycling culture in our community.

During Mr. Burrowes' tenure, there have been alarming instances of unfair treatment. The detrimental impacts include biased decision-making and support that only extends to a select group, undermining thousands of cyclists striving for fairness and equal opportunity. Compounded by troubling comments from Mr. Burrowes' associate, Mr. London, which include inappropriate and racially insensitive statements, the situation has become intolerable. It's essential that the administration reflects the diverse and inclusive spirit that cycling naturally embodies.

This petition calls for an Extraordinary General Meeting where these issues can be addressed directly, and the Current administration to be dismantaled, allowing the voices of all cyclists to be heard. A change in leadership is critical, potentially ushering in more democratic practices and ethical governance. We envision a future where every cyclist, regardless of their background, has equal access to opportunities and resources.

Sign this petition to stand with the cyclists of Guyana. Let us unite in demanding an open and fair environment that enables all cyclists, especially the youth, to achieve their full potential. Together, we can initiate the change needed to rebuild confidence and integrity in our cycling community. Join the movement for transparency, equity, and a thriving cycling culture in Guyana.
