What a journey this is becoming!

We now need a physical signature from you! The Mayor has said she won't look at the change.org petition because it's not official

We have volunteers ready with physical petition forms for you to sign. We are doing one to recall the mayor, and one to have the province come in and inspect the (mis)management of the City, and COMCO, as well as council's governance.

As you likely know, our collective voices were successful in forcing the City and Council to take action earlier than their original plan of looking at it at the end of the year.  We managed to get some relief payments flowing and force them to expedite an interim rate setting bylaw.  While we are not completely satisfied with the interim rate setting, as they are still refusing to release cost per kWh information to us now stating we are not owners of the utility and have no right to see this information.

They have also admitted they run the utility under the philosophy of business (profit/ROE prioritized) vs a municipal service.  In doing so, they have allowed their record profits to force citizens into poverty. This is not okay. How do we trust any of them - from Managing Director Pancoast, to the Mayor and Council, to do the right things, when on their watch, to their admission, they have prioritized making 4-5x their target profit in 2023 over ensuring their neighbors can feed their kids. 

Its clear the issues run deeper than this Mayor and Council, but also clear this Mayor and Council is either ill-equipped or unwilling, or both, to take a stand for us. 

Administration seems to be running the show for utilities, and we are paying the price.
