I will be there with Drew Barnes, who will help me answer some of the technical questions that the City has not bothered to answer yet.  (Still not response from Councilor Van Dyke)

I have received a reply from the City about my formal complaint about Shila Sharps behavior including (among other things) her claim that the cost of living problem here (including utilities) is not a Medicine Hat decision.  It is very much a Medicine Hat decision and the City's stance was she meant well. I guess it doesn't matter if she's misleading us, as long as she means well.  In pressing them on their lack of action, I was told, by the City Clerk (who I quite like so far):

"I have no power or authority to direct Councilor Sharps to take any action on this or any other issue. It is your decision to share the response with whomever you wish."

My question then is, if you have no power to force her to take action, how do you have power to deal with my complaint?  There is no process for a member of the public to issue a formal complaint against Council and so I will be filing a complaint with the Ombudsman.  If you are interested in reading the email trails, my complaint, and the City's reply, please email me through this petition and I will gladly share with you.
