Call a Carbon Tax Election

The Issue

Petition to Call a National Referendum on the Carbon Tax and Hold the Government Accountable

To the House of Commons, Ottawa, Canada:

We, the undersigned citizens and residents of Canada, hereby petition the Government of Canada to immediately call a national referendum on the Federal Carbon Tax and to assess public confidence in the current leadership of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Why We Demand Action

 1. Unfair Financial Burden

The Carbon Tax has imposed undue hardship on Canadians, disproportionately affecting low- and middle-income families. Many are struggling to keep up with rising costs of living while seeing little evidence that the tax has significantly reduced emissions.

 2. Lack of Transparency

Canadians deserve clear, honest, and data-driven explanations of how the tax revenue is being used. The current administration has failed to provide sufficient accountability.

 3. Democratic Voice

The policies affecting Canadians’ everyday lives, such as the Carbon Tax, should reflect the will of the majority. By calling a referendum, we ensure that these critical decisions are made with input from all Canadians.

 4. Leadership Accountability

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s policies, including the Carbon Tax, have sparked widespread dissatisfaction. It is imperative that Canadian citizens are given an opportunity to express their confidence or lack thereof in his leadership through democratic processes.

Our Call to Action

We urge the Government of Canada to:

 1. Immediately suspend the Federal Carbon Tax until a national referendum can be held.

 2. Hold a binding national referendum on the continuation of the Federal Carbon Tax policy.

 3. Allow Canadians to express their confidence in the current federal leadership through a federal election if the referendum indicates a lack of public support.

We believe that a transparent and democratic process will uphold the principles of accountability and trust that are essential to Canada’s democracy.

Sign this petition today and make your voice heard. Together, we can ensure a fair, responsible, and democratic approach to tackling climate change without unnecessary burdens on Canadians.
