Judge Wells refuses to dignify women as sentient beings in his court room. After 5 years in court a party has been unable to obtain a divorce a well known tactic by Judge Wells who truly "believes" that a divorce is an abomination and against nature. The issue is fairly simple and could be resolved a with a case management conference if properly held or a motion to bifurcate a dissolution. The party complains at length that once again the male party is protected at all cost as Judge Wells has certain target parties that he retaliates against. The male party of course can also quit work just to avoid all financial obligations that a party has a fiduciary duty too and is well protected by Judge Wells' male entitlement mentality. Once Judge Wells has made up his mind there is no reverse course and Judge Wells refuses to see reason or to grant the statutory right to a speedy divorce which in family month is after 6 months. Strangely enough the court frowns upon family law cases moving along for 5 years without any resolution including a divorce. CCP section 583.310 specifies that an action shall be brought to trial within five years after the action is commenced against the defendant, which in family law cases does entail the absolutely terrifying divorce that Judge Wells refuses to address.
