We all know that in the last 12 months at least 6 people (taken from a rough guide online) have taken there lives by jumping off North Bridge. People don't have the support from the mental health service in calderdale and that is where the system is going wrong. People are calling for safety barriers to been installed on north bridge but I don't believe that to be the answer, we need to support these people before they reach the bridge. It is my suggestion that a voulentry drop in service is set up at Laura Mitchell centre where people can go and talk to other members of the community without the fear of being judged. I also suggest that the mental health service in calderdale to be looked at and reviewed so we stop hearing about the residents of Halifax and calderdale taking there lives at North Bridge.
