On February 22, 2021 a woman walked into Cafe tapioca and ordered a drink. After waiting, her order came out, it wasn't what she wanted, she wanted a slushy but the Owner brought out a milkshake because the Owner got confused, understandably, considering English isn't his first language. She then creates a scene inside the establishment and then later that day the woman then went out and made a false accusation online about the incident where she claims that Tony Ly (the owner) threw a drink at her and her baby. She also claimed that he shouted racial slurs at her. Over the past few days Cafe Tapioca has been ridiculed online by people who have no evidence whatsoever and immediately took sides without hearing both sides of the story. All of her accusations are false, as there was no evidence shown from the woman. She never entered the establishment with a baby, there were no racial slurs said, no yelling, and no drink thrown. She was later refunded. This can all be seen in the security camera footage that was taken. This absolutely sickens me considering how small family owned businesses such as this one are really struggling during these tough times.
