Thank Y'all for the support! Please keep it up!!
Apr 3, 2018 — Kami and I just met up with, for simplicity's sake, our adult action team. These lovely people have given us an amazing opportunity to voice our concerns, and to get all of our ducks in a row. This boost of inspiration is going to keep fueling us to fight this battle not only for Kami and her rights but for all students who come after her.
We'd also like to say thank you to KTBS, who will broadcast our story TONIGHT, April 2nd at 9 pm and again at 10 pm CST. If you are local, PLEASE watch. We would also like to say thank you to The Shreveport Times for graciously inviting us for an interview. We cannot thank the local media enough for helping spread Kami's story. You can watch the livestream here https://www.ktbs.com/video/24-hour-news/ at 9 pm or 10 pm Central US time!!
If you are a Southwood student, Kami and I will be passing out stickers that you can wear to show support. I haven't given my name yet but I am Tatjana Cotton, and myself and a few other students are helping out. Ask me and Kami if you run into us for a sticker.
Also, we'd like to add that even though Mr. Roberts can intimidate and try to scare us, we will not back down. We aren't doing this just for Kami, but for any student who comes after her. What we want is an apology and a rule change for all students so they can express themselves regardless of the gender on their birth certificate.
If any SHS students are interested in getting stickers to show your support, please talk to me (Tatjana C) or Kami at school tomorrow! Please feel free to reach out to us on campus to see how you can help.
Thank you to everyone who came to talk to us and those who continue to offer support. We are not going to back down until we get the results that Kami and other students deserve!
