CalTrans needs to scan for microchips...

Hello Supporters,  It's May 23.  As this petition moves forward, people are calling with questions.  Some of these questions focus around what CalTrans would be asked to do over their present responsibilities.  It is my understanding from speaking with CalTrans that they now pick up animals whether wild e.g. deer, or domesticated e.g. dogs or cats and remove them from the highways and freeways.  Scanning for microchips in dogs and cats that have lost their ID collar would be a small step with minimum time involved. I personally feel that time is well spent in comparison to the hours people that are missing pets worry and wonder.
