On November 6, 2019, Greg Coates (CDC# B-68775) was DENIED parole for five years!  Signatures & comments are still being collected on this petition for his next hearing, so please continue to sign & share!  His next parole hearing date will be posted here as soon as it becomes available. 

Greg Coates first murdered Jean Stephens in Rubidoux, CA while burglarizing her home in January 1975.  Coates bludgeoned her with a barbell, raped her, and shot her to death before attempting to burn her home down.  She was discovered by her 11 year old daughter!   Knowing her son from school, Coates actually attended her funeral & even spent nights after the murder at her family's home!  Four months later, he killed his own step-mother Betty Coates in San Clemente.   He broke in, raped & strangled Betty, before setting her body on fire to cover his crime.   His ex-wife has since come forward to reveal he partially slit her throat, strangling her on multiple occasions, and raped her repeatedly, however, these were never reported, so he was never charged. Coates also raped his 18 year old babysitter when he was just 14 years old, but being a youth, it was not allowed as evidence!  One of the most absurd factors of his parole, beside the obvious, is he will not have to register as a sex-offender because, although he has admitted the rapes post-conviction, he was never charged with rape!
