Investigative reporting by several media outlets continues to uncover Mayor Kevin Faulconer's intentional failure to provide adequate sanitation for Unsheltered San Diegans, leading to the worst Hepatitis A epidemic in the nation in 20+ years. For example: "In one email from June, an officer at St. Vincent de Paul’s charity told county leaders that the city flatly refused to install portable toilets and sinks to help control the spread of the virus, which has infected nearly 450 people in recent months and killed 16. “'From my understanding, the city of San Diego has declined an opportunity to put portable toilets/wash stations around the city because it wasn’t so long ago they were fighting other kinds of outbreaks by virtue of the availability of portable toilets,' Ruth Bruland wrote June 30." If you haven't yet done so, please Sign this Petition to our CA Atty General, Xavier Becerra, to independently investigate San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer for criminal negligence in the deaths of 16 San Diegans (plus 2 more under investigation), 300+ hospitalizations and almost 450 San Diegans made sick. And SHARE it if you HAVE already Signed! THANK YOU. This travesty must not ever happen again -- and holding officials accountable helps ensure this -- as in Flint MI, where 5 state and local officials are being prosecuted for involuntary manslaughter in the deaths of 12 people from Legionnaires Disease, contracted from contaminated Flint water.
