During the summertime in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, elderly widow Sara Goldfarb (Ellen Burstyn) is a lonely television addict whose only comfort is eating boxed chocolates and watching TV shows, particularly infomercials hosted by Tappy Tibbons (Christopher McDonald). The people tuning up are The Kronos Quartet , who played most of the music for the film.
