Maya and I are so pleased that our movement has reached its conclusion. The two of us met with the owner of the flag today and he was completely understanding and respectful of our reasoning for why we wanted it removed. We are so glad that there is mutual respect and love for one another on both sides of the debate. We would like to fully emphasize that the flag being hung was not done with malice or racism at heart, but rather, as a joke wherein the repercussions of the action were not fully considered. That being said, thank you all so much for the support that was shown to us. We truly could not have come to such a positive conclusion without your support. We are grateful that we were able to start a healthy conversation on campus and see a positive change as a result.
