Thank you for supporting the city in evicting Michael J Blackstone. This petition allowed the city to hear the voice of those who support their decision to evict Michael J Blackstone. This has nothing to do with destroying the legacy that his father created during the years that he owned and operated Air Combat USA out of the Fullerton Airport. That unfortunately was done by his son. Had things been done right, after Michael Eugene Blackstone’s passing, this company would still be thriving and we would not be having this discussion. However, things went very different, and it is a very sad situation for all of those involved. Due to the current circumstances, it is time to let Air Combat USA become a distant memory and to remember the remarkable man that Michael Eugene Blackstone was and what he had accomplished. His son destroyed Air Combat over the past year with his actions and false accusations and we do not want to continue to see this happen and to have him continue to destroy the wonderful memories that people have of Air Combat USA.
The opposing petition claims that they were just trying to show the city how much love the people had for Air Combat USA and to request that they get to stay and operate at the Fullerton Airport, and that “we” came in to slander them. Their petition was first incorrectly worded to make it sound like they were being evicted from the Fullerton Airport, when in fact, it was just the main Air Combat hangar that they were being evicted from. They should have stated that they messed up on no extending the lease and would really like to stay in the same building where their father operated for the past 5 years and then leave it at that. No one would have questioned their motive and would have let them be. However, the initial push for their petition and postings that still exist and continue to be released on their personal and company Facebook pages are slanderous against city officials, the new lease holder and the prior employees. Yes their petition does not call out anyone or bring in all the horrible things that have happened over the past year, but all of their Facebook postings when sharing the petition are. It was these actions that the decision was made to share “our” story so that those that were able to see all of the false statements being made, could hear the truth. The truth is not slander and only facts were mentioned in this petition.
We thank you in supporting this petition and sharing your stories and frustrations that you have had to deal with so that the city can see why the people support the eviction. YOUR voice has been heard.
