LIGHTNING CAPITAL OF THE WORLD AND NO DARK RIDE !!! Busch gardens Tampa Bay is heavily reliant on its loyal pass members, comprising of a local contingency that has embraced the park since 1959. Some like myself try to visit at least once a week while encouraging others to buy passes (spending thousands), but Busch has done NOTHING to cater the need of a dark ride after 16* years with summer downpours and no ride. Unlike Universal and Disney, your day is all but over when the weather doesn't cooperate. Ive gone as far as avoiding the parks in competition like the plague, advocating for my home park and having their back every chance I get. Busch needs to have ours.

In 1998, a "way cool simulator" opened in the Egypt section of Busch gardens. "Akbars Adventure Tours" starred Martin Short and Eugene Levy, and led guests on a simulation ride through an Egyptian Market, over the Sphinx and Phramids, and finally into a secret mummy tomb. Although a little rough around the edges, the unique theming they were able to pull off with the Egypt section made it iconic. There is only so much land Busch has to build, fitting the pyramid and Sphinx into this land by way of a simulator was pure genius. Without letting nostalgia creep in this ride offered an immersive experience unavailable in the park anymore. I think i speak for most when i say Turn it Up Remix is the worst show ever in the moroccan palace theater. 4-D theater not in use with no future shows planned. A dark/indoor ride would be so beneficial and appreciated by the true faithful.

Now the building is just standing vacant and only used for Howl-O-Scream events, rendering it dead to the African roots all around the park. Mark Rose, former VP of engineering was rumored to brag that all of the hardware is still in place and the ride could be operational in 48-72 hrs. One interesting caveat is the all-indoor ride Busch's sister park just installed, Darkoaster.  We've seen countless sister rides between the two parks, could it happen again ?!?!?! Judging by "Iron Gwazi" It seems they have a decent pulse on what their supporters want, make them hear you if you agree with this notion!!! Whether this ride is unearthed from the ashes or not, I humbly pray that Busch Gardens Tampa Bay adds a Dark Ride/Indoor Coaster sooner rather than later, if at all.
