Amazing! After an 11-month fight to get Burger King to announce the end of cages in Latin America, we achieved our goal!
The company announced this week a policy saying that its entire supply chain will be cage-free in the region (www.rbi.com/en/responsible-sourcing-commitments). This means that by 2025, millions of hens and pigs will no longer have to spend their entire lives in tiny cages where they can barely move.
Now it's time to celebrate, sharing the news! Click here to share our victory on Facebook: www.facebook.com/ligaanimallatinaycaribena/photos/a.749977615107947.1073741828.749974888441553/922918211147219/?type=3&theater
It's important to remember that while cage-free systems aren't perfect, or completely cruelty-free, they allow animals to move, socialize and carry out other important natural behaviors. These simple things can significantly reduce their suffering. The best way to protect animals is by not eating them or their products, like eggs and dairy.
Huge celebratory hug from the Liga Animal Latina y Caribeña team!
