While so many animals are being forced to spend their entire lives in tiny cages to supply ingredients for Burger King’s products, Forbes magazine has just announced that one of the owners of the company, the Brazilian billionaire Jorge Paulo Lemann, got even richer! According to Forbes, Mr. Lemann has become the 19th wealthiest person in the world! Forbes points out that one of the sources of Mr. Lemann’s wealth is Burger King and calls him a ‘philanthropist’, or someone who does good for others. But how can a true philanthropist support animal cruelty? Mr. Lemann’s main philanthropy project is the Lemman Foundation. Please join us in telling his foundation that if they believe in a sustainable, compassionate and fair world – animal cruelty is also unacceptable. Participating takes less than two minutes and it can make a huge difference for animals – sentient beings that like us humans can experience pain, fear, stress, sadness and joy. Follow the instructions below. Facebook: Go to the Lemann Foundation page www.facebook.com/fundacaolemann and leave a message like this one: Animals should also be part of your plan to make a better world. Please #BeKindLemann: Demand the end of torturing animals in cages in Burger King’s supply chain in Latin America. www.change.org/burgerkingcages Twitter: Click here http://ctt.ec/mdI86 to send the following message via Twitter to Mr. Lemann and the Lemann Foundation: Animals matter @fundacaolemann @lemannoficial. #BeKindLemann: STOP torturing animals in cages for Burger King’s products in Latin America!
