Liebe Unterstützerinnen und Unterstützer,
GRÜNE, LINKE und FDP fordern eine öffentliche Anhörung zum Thema „Bundesweites Wildtierverbot im Zirkus“ vor dem Ausschuss für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft. Die Anhörung findet voraussichtlich am 14. Oktober statt und kann auch als Livestream verfolgt werden.
GRÜNE und LINKE: Beide Fraktionen haben unser Petitionsanliegen bisher konsequent und engagiert unterstützt und setzen sich weiterhin dafür ein, dass das Leiden der Wildtiere im Zirkus endlich ein Ende findet.
FDP: Der Tierschutz ist für die FDP mit Sicherheit kein Kernthema. Umso mehr freue ich mich über die Dialogbereitschaft zu diesem Thema. Und ohne Frage gibt es in der FDP tierschutzengagierte Politiker*innen. Bleibt zu hoffen, dass sich diese mit Nachdruck in ihrer Fraktion positionieren können.
SPD: Es bleibt schwierig. Aber auch bei der SPD ist zu sagen, dass unsere Petition durch deren Tierschutzbeauftragte engagiert unterstützt wurde. Dann kam die Bundestagswahl. Den Ausgang der Wahl und die sich daraus ergebene Parteienkonstellation kennen wir alle. Warten wir ab, ob es seitens der SPD am 14. Oktober ein klares JA zum Wildtierverbot im Zirkus gibt.
CDU/CSU: Seit Jahren wird das Wildtierverbot im Zirkus systematisch von der Union blockiert. Und leider erweist sich die neue Bundesministerin für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft Julia Klöckner (CDU) in Sachen Tierschutz als absolute Fehlbesetzung. Doch auch in der CDU gibt es die andere Seite der Medaille: Auf kommunaler Ebene erlebe ich Politiker*innen, die sich sehr engagiert für den Tierschutz einsetzen. Doch leider scheint das auf Bundesebene nicht anzukommen oder wird schlichtweg ignoriert.
Für mich stellt sich nicht die Frage ob es ein Wildtierverbot im Zirkus geben wird, sondern nur wann. CDU/CSU haben in ihrer Blockadehaltung einen langen Atem, aber den haben wir auch und werden uns weiterhin für das Ende dieses Tierleids engagieren!!!
Daher lasst unsere Petition weiter wachsen. Bitte leitet sie an Freunde, Verwandte, Bekannte, Nachbarn und Kollegen weiter. Viele Menschen die bisher noch nichts von unserer Petition wissen, werden uns bestimmt gerne mit ihrer Unterschrift unterstützen.

Nationwide wild animal ban in the circus: GRÜNE, LINKE and FDP call for public hearing
Dear animal rights activists,
GRÜNE, LINKE and FDP call for a public hearing on the topic "Nationwide Wild Animal Ban in the Circus" before the Committee on Food and Agriculture. The hearing is expected to take place on October 14th and can also be watched as a livestream.
GRÜNE and LINKE: Both factions have consistently and enthusiastically supported our petition and continue to ensure that the suffering of wild animals in the circus finally comes to an end.
FDP: Animal welfare is certainly not a core issue for the FDP. All the more I am pleased about the readiness for dialogue on this topic. And there is no doubt that there are animal rights-oriented politicians in the FDP. It is to be hoped that they will be able to position themselves vigorously in their group.
SPD: It remains difficult. But even with the SPD is to say that our petition was actively supported by their animal rights officer. Then came the general election. We all know the outcome of the election and the resulting party constellation.
Let's wait and see if there is a clear YES to the wildlife ban in the circus on the part of the SPD on October 14th.
CDU / CSU: For years, the wild animal ban in the circus has been systematically blocked by the Union. And unfortunately, the new Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture Julia Klöckner (CDU) proves in terms of animal welfare as absolute miscast.
But also in the CDU, there is the other side of the coin: At the local level, I experience politicians who are committed to animal welfare. Unfortunately, this does not seem to happen at the federal level or is simply ignored.
For me, the question is not whether there will be a wildlife ban in the circus, but only when. CDU / CSU have a lot of breathing power in their blockade attitude, but we have that too and will continue to engage in the end of this animal suffering !!!
Therefore, let our petition continue to grow. Please forward it to friends, relatives, acquaintances, neighbors and colleagues. Many people who do not know anything about our petition will certainly be happy to support us with their signature.
