As you might have seen, this petition was mentioned in The Age today, and on ABC Radio Melbourne this morning! There has been amazing news! The council has released plans for Elsternwick Park and Hurlingham Park for next year, and there is a pump track shown in both! This is amazing news because it means the chance of getting one in Elsternwick park is much higher. The only problem is that this likely means that it will be in one of those two parks.
We all really want it in Elsternwick Park because Elsternwick Park is obviously the best location for it (thats what this petition is for!) so we need to keep pushing council on getting it in Elsternwick Park. There are many reasons but the main two are that the Nature Reserve (old golf course) was used so much in Covid with kids building tracks which all got knocked down by council. Also there are so many riders who live in the area so it would get a lot of use.
An excellent way you all could help ensure success is by writing directly to the mayor of Bayside, Cr Debbie Taylor-Haynes. Her email is dtaylorhaynes@bayside.vic.gov.au. Give her reasons in your email explaining how much you want it in Elsternwick Park and the specific reasons why it should be in Elsternwick Park.
Thanks so much for your support in getting us here! This is a great achievement for all of us but we still need to keep working and pushing and writing to council to make sure the pump track is built in Elsternwick Park.
