I moved into this neighborhood about two years ago, and a neighbor joked that there was no cell service here and we shouldn’t move in.

Unfortunately, I quickly realized this was not a joke. Somehow, in 2025, so many people in this part of Vancouver still have no access to reliable cell service.

My family uses T-Mobile, but I’ve confirmed that no carrier works here. Neighbors with Verizon, AT&T, and other providers all report the same thing: zero coverage.

I contacted T-Mobile in July, and they admitted there was a problem, but nothing has been fixed. Their latest update claims the issue was resolved and that they “don’t see our area as a problem.” Meanwhile, service has only gotten worse. When I asked what to do next, they told me to escalate this to local government, which is exactly what this petition is about.

This is not a rural area. It’s unacceptable that we can’t do basic things like:
 • Take calls from home.
 • Walk our dogs while chatting with friends.
 • Call from the car on the way to the grocery store.
 • Or worst of all — call 911 if Wi-Fi goes out.

For example, when someone hit the power lines a few weeks ago and Wi-Fi went down, I couldn’t even call or search to see what had happened. If someone had needed emergency services at that moment, it could have been life-threatening.
