Revitalize the Bronx River Art Center
The Issue
The Coalition for the Revitalization of the Bronx River Art Center (BRAC) includes professional artists, horticulturalists, community leaders, educators, parents, and other concerned Bronx residents who want to see the Bronx River Art Center used to its full potential.
According to its website, BRAC’s mission is to bring professional arts programming to a “culturally underserved population” through programs that encourage “creative activism towards the revitalization and future of our neighborhood.”
Because our community is UNDERSERVED by BRAC we are united in support of THE ART CENTER WE DESERVE.
WE HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE CHANGE IN OUR COMMUNITY
These days, everywhere you look in the United States “ordinary people” are making extraordinary change. Voices united towards a common cause can make a difference for our families and for our community. The Bronx River Art Center has the potential to be a dynamic hub in the Bronx for people all across the borough. Its long history, central location, state of the art facilities and natural resources make it one of our greatest community assets. Unfortunately, lack of programming, limited access, alienation of the community, cultural insensitivity, and ineffective community outreach has made BRAC more of a monument than a community center. For more details, follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
