Video of City Hall meeting today, May 9th:

  • Mayor Jim Hagaman begins to speak at the 26 min mark (in our favor)
  • 00:31 I, Tera, begin talking
  • 00:38 our neighbor James starts talking
  • The planning commission starts the discussion about the rezoning at the 1-hour mark.
  • Here is the accompanying PDF that is read at the 1-hour mark.
  • 01:27 concludes with a motion after the planning commission was hesitant to vote yes to anything else prior
  • 01:28 Alderman Trent Linville’s great comment
    Notes:
  • **Motion voted on: Recommending the 33 acres to be R2 (Both Alderman Trent Linville and Alderman Matt Fitterer voted no)
  • **They all voted against recommending R3 (higher density, more noise).
  • They noted that all of the community emails that were sent to PCPublicComment@springhilltn.org helped immensely so we need to please continue to send more and more and this time let’s include the BOMA and mayor email below as they are the next step in the process. We have to keep the pressure on until things are finalized with our community’s safety in mind.
  • Next step & meeting:
  • **What: BOMA meeting for Mayor and Alderman approval
  • **When: Monday, May 16 at 6 pm
    https://www.springhilltn.org/Calendar.aspx?EID=6155...
  • **Where: Spring Hill City Hall
  • Action to take prior to the meeting: Email the following 3 email addresses to re-emphasize the petition notes and safety concerns: https://chng.it/jN4SLF9W (Also ask for the updated concept map that John Maher’s engineer shared during the meeting that is not currently online for us. The new proposal Andy talked about would not enter Brixworth through Safe Haven and would not enter through Danes Dr/Brightwater. We need a copy to keep them to it.)
