Approve Abolishing Forced Adoption! Justice for Efe and Olivia

Approve Abolishing Forced Adoption! Justice for Efe and Olivia
The Issue
My dear friend, Efe, has very sadly recently lost her Parental and Birth Mother Rights over her almost three year old daughter, Olivia, on 24/01/2020.
In recent weeks she asked the court's permission to appeal against her daughter being put up for adoption. Being the pillar-of-strength that she is - coupled with her friends' supportive letters - Efe compiled court appeal and appellant bundles in the hope to stall the Adoption Order from being put into place - only to be told the cruel news that her permission to appeal/appellant bundles had been sickeningly refused. The feeble and heinous excuses as to why Efe was refused this are as follows:
- Olivia had settled with the adopter and referred to her as "mummy". Objection: Yet Olivia and Efe's relationship had been significantly disturbed by the local authority and foster carer after eleven months of being together. During the times Efe visited Olivia in a contact centre, Olivia would crawl to her mother, cuddle her and wouldn't leave her side.
- Olivia supposedly had a speech delay and this was unfairly blamed on Efe. Objection: My son is three years old and has a speech delay. It can be a natural occurrence which doesn't indicate that anything is inherently wrong with the parenting of the child.
- Efe was subjected to false accusations which vilified her parenting. She was under duress to "agree" with the lies and false information the local authority and foster carer posed, in order to get any upperhand. She refused to accept the claims made about her and so was blackmailed.
Running up to the Adoption Order Hearing, Efe was misinformed of the date of the court hearing at the last minute and did not even have her solicitor's support of attending with her to her Olivia's adoption hearing! She had to battle this out on her own and was incredibly brave and valiant in doing so.
Efe requested to the judge on the day to have supervised contact with her daughter, only to have her dream and rights promptly dashed! This system is totally flawed to silence a mother's voice in such a cruel and merciless way. Social services' social responsibility is supposedly "Keeping families together", rendering their very object defeated.
As a mother myself, helplessly watching your dear and treasured child being put up for adoption beyond your own control, is categorically the most heartbreaking, bereaving and traumatic ordeal a parent could ever go through. Proverbially speaking, it is like being a shepherd deprived of the chance to protect your sheep - watching your lamb hurtling to the slaughter!
According to Compactlaw.com: "Once made, adoption orders are final and cannot be revoked. However, a further adoption order can be made to remove parental responsibility from the adoptive parents." The fact an adoption order cannot be revoked is playing God with the lives and human rights of children and their birth parents. Please let there be positive change in our laws and policies - to once and for all abolish forced adoption! We aim to get as many signatures as possible to support our plea in making this a matter of legal priority.
In 2018 Efe's daughter was taken out of her care by Chester Local Authority. They both lived with a foster carer for a period of time before the foster carer and Chester Local Authority slanderously conjured up stories about Efe's care over Olivia, which were racially discriminatory in nature.
On June 17th 2019 Efe gave birth to her baby son, Daniel, following relocating to Croydon, London from Chester. Chester social services travelled all the way from their county to Croydon to remove - then newborn - Daniel from his mother's care - and take him with them to Chester. She had to travel across the miles via train twice per week to see Daniel in a contact centre.
The court then transferred Daniel's case to Croydon Local Authority. Since then Efe has proved to be a fit and loving mother to her son and he is permanently in her care and since September 2019 she has been entrusted to reside with Daniel in a natural home environment.
It goes to show how the two respective counties operate so very differently; within the same country yet worlds apart. London have let her keep Daniel (and maintain that her case with Olivia is racially motivated and corrupt) whilst Cheshire have stripped her of her Parental Rights of Olivia against her will! It is devastating to think that Olivia and Daniel are forced to be estranged from each-other as brother and sister.
Please sign this petition in agreement that no parent nor child should have to endure this type of oppression.
Warm regards,
Miss. Sophie Parkin
