Dear Friends, After 2 months of silence from BA and no response from their CEO Keith Williams, we have decided to take things a step further. Since British Airways was merged with Iberia and are now owned by the International Airlines Group (IAG), we will be asking IAG's CEO Willie Walsh and BA's Managing Director of Brands & Customer Experience Frank van der Post to respond to our calls and stop selling trips to SeaWorld. Please send an E-Mail to the: 1) CEO at IAG who own BA: Willie Walsh at: willie.walsh@ba.com 2) Managing Director at BA: Frank van der Post at: frank.vanderpost@ba.com And ask both of them very politely to sever BA's ties with SeaWorld. The E-Mail doesn't have to be long. You should include the following in your E-Mails: a) explain why you are writing this E-Mail and why you have signed the petition. Give the link to the petition so they can have a look and know which petition you are talking about. You can use this short cut: www.change.org/BAseaworld b) tell them that the CEO of BA Keith Williams did not respond to an E-Mail from the petition starter on the 18th of June asking for a personal meeting to discuss the topic further c) that BA has been completely silent since their first reply on the 4th of June hence why we are reaching out to them d) how you feel about BA's silence and that you would like them to respond and take a stand against SeaWorld e) why you want BA to stop selling trips to SeaWorld (for example, because orcas in captivity are suffering, their teeth are damaged, they don't have enough space to swim and to avoid social hierarchy fights, insufficient diet, lack of exercise, inbreeding etc.) Here are some additional things you can mention but don't have to: - facts about the petition (e.g. how many signatures it currently has) - facts about SeaWorld and their orcas (for example the treatment of Tilikum and how he was involved in 3 people's deaths, life spans, social behaviour etc.) - that other airlines are engaging with the topic (for example Virgin, Southwest Airlines, STA Travel) Again, please remember to be polite. We need these people on our side, not ignoring us because of a lack of respect. Don't forget to change the name if you are writing to both and to sign with your name at the bottom!
