The St Ursula's NEU have reluctantly had to call another day of strike action on May the 3rd.
Our colleague with 23 years of loyal service to the school and NEU rep, Mr Turpie has now endured 8 months of unfair and unprecedented suspension. The initial school led investigation into him was deeply flawed and after a hearing in January an independent investigator was appointed in February. The NEU have fully cooperated with this second investigation and believe the investigator has been fair and open in her approach.
However we have been informed that contrary to school and council policy Mr Turpie will have to go through another hearing and that the first report will still be used.
This unfair and backward step has given us no choice but to take part in industrial action to support Mr Turpie.
