Bring WALL-E to Fornite, for a wake up call for the youth.
The Issue
I’m a huge fan of WALL-E, and I really like the Fortnite collaborations, too. When I saw the Buzz Lightyear collab featuring one of my beloved characters, I thought it was awesome. It would be amazing to see a collaboration with my all-time favorite, WALL-E.
WALL-E isn’t just any movie it’s a film that demands to be seen. It holds up a mirror to our own future: while humanity has transformed into soulless, lazy machines driven by hyper consumption and screens, a lonely waste collecting robot develops a soul through art, love, and empathy. The film poses an urgent question: what truly makes us human if we lose our connection to nature and to one another? WALL-E proves that survival is meaningless without the capacity to love and to take responsibility. It is a powerful plea for us to wake up from our technological lethargy right now, before we permanently discard our own planet and humanity.
But what made me think of this?
At a time when a Dutch class-action lawsuit is painfully exposing how multibillion-dollar corporations exploit the psychology of vulnerable children for profit, our kids are growing up behind screens disconnected from the real world and reduced to mindless consumers. We are looking at a generation in danger of becoming exactly what WALL-E warned us about: a humanity that no longer truly lives, but merely functions as a slave to a digital algorithm. Precisely in the midst of this crisis, Epic Games has a moral duty to break this destructive cycle. A collaboration with WALL-E isn’t just a marketing stunt; It is a lifeline for young people. Bring the lonely waste-collecting robot to Fortnite—not to sell yet more skins, but to hold up a mirror to our children that touches them deep in their souls. Dare to confront them, within the game, with their own screen addiction and consumer habits. Give them a wake-up call by teaching them the ultimate lesson through the game: that real life awaits outside. Even if this causes gamers to put down their controllers and results in a temporary loss of profit for Epic Games, the company would be proving something priceless: that they are willing to fight for the mental health and future of our children. Show that a child's soul is worth more than the next microtransaction.
Imagine a Battle Royale makeover: instead of a thriving city, its ruined city by man, giving it an apocalyptic, dusty, golden vibe. Give players quests to help the abandoned robot "sprites" they’re malfunctioning and sad, yet still trying to clean up the city. Help them recover lost memories from the lonely trash . Once you return a lost item, the sprite cheers up, its light turns green, and you can extract and keep it forever. Instead of just rewarding XP or gold, give players a "Plant-in-a-Boot" back bling or a temporary shield something genuinely useful. Create emotes based on iconic *WALL-E* scenes. Replace standard chests with lonely robots or piles of trash a quick three-second interaction gives the loot. If a player is knocked, let them use a "Hold My Hand" emote; this extends the time a teammate has to revive the knocked teammate, and grants a shield boost to the person holding their hand. Set a community goal: if everyone collects enough sprites together, we help make the world green again. If the goal is met, offer a real reward—not just XP or gold, but free *WALL-E* and *EVE* skins for everyone. Make sure players can unlock *WALL-E* characters, back blings, and more through the free tier of the Battle Pass. It remains a PvP game where people shoot each other that’s part of the genre but adding a twist like this makes a difference. Don't let the mechanics limit the players; inspire them to watch the movie and reflect on its message all through a game that so many kids are hooked on.
