I also need to be transparent with you all.
Despite repeated attempts to follow up, I have not received any update from the police regarding:

The status of the investigation
Waffles’ current wellbeing
Or any progress on allowing temporary custody of Waffles, which I formally offered over a month ago
The incident occurred well over a month ago, yet there has been no update or communication on any of these points.

It is now Christmas, and this is devastating.

John will be spending Christmas alone, without Waffles, while also undergoing cancer treatment and struggling with a severe decline in his mental health. For someone who has already lost Dusty just weeks before the incident, the continued absence of Waffles is heartbreaking beyond words.

Waffles remains in kennels, despite there being a safe, loving, familiar home available immediately. Keeping him confined over Christmas — when no investigative steps appear to be moving forward — feels unnecessarily cruel for both dog and owner.

This update is a final, urgent push to ask the authorities to act with compassion and common sense:

👉 Please release Waffles from the kennels for Christmas
👉 Allow him to be returned home or placed into temporary custody with me, where he will be safe, loved, and properly cared for

This situation has gone on long enough.
Christmas should not be spent in kennels.
And John should not be left alone in his darkest moment.
