I need to share further important information.

John’s mental health has taken a severe decline.
Following the loss of Dusty only weeks ago, the traumatic incident involving the adopted dog, and now the sudden separation from Waffles, John has expressed suicidal thoughts. His worry, guilt and fear of never seeing Waffles again have pushed him into a very fragile state. We are getting him support urgently, but Waffles is a major source of emotional stability for him.

We are also extremely concerned about Waffles’ wellbeing.
Kennels are not always the best environment for dogs, especially anxious or bonded ones. After researching similar cases, I’ve seen multiple reports of dogs developing malnutrition, stress symptoms, or declining health after spending months in police kennels. This is frightening to consider, especially when a safe alternative is available.

I have offered immediate temporary custody, where Waffles would be with me and my dog Thor, in a loving, stable home he already knows. There is no risk and every benefit to allowing this — so why is this opportunity being overlooked?

For anyone hesitant to sign, I ask you to put yourself in John’s position for a moment.
If your small dog was being violently attacked by a dog three times its size — and nothing you tried would stop it — what would you have done in that life-or-death moment to save your pet’s life?

John acted out of pure panic and love.
He is not an animal abuser.
He is a man traumatised by a horrific situation and now suffering even more because his surviving dog has been taken away.
