The Issue

As an avid reader and a lover of the A Twisted Tale series, I have been fascinated by the way these books reimagined the classic animated Disney and Pixar films with alternative history scenarios similar to Marvel Comics' What If?. These books, which have been mostly published in the United States, offer a fresh and exciting perspective on the familiar fairy tales and stories. However, I feel disappointed that some books in the series have been released in the United Kingdom and Australia but do not have any known publication dates for the United States as of now.

The UK and Aus published mentioned books so far are Set in Stone, based on The Sword in the Stone, Suddenly Super, based on The Incredibles, Princess of Thieves, based on Robin Hood, Be Prepared, based on The Lion King, Cruel Truth, Based on One Hundred and One Dalmatians, and Nobody Gets Left Behind, Based on Lilo and Stitch.

One of the barriers that prevents American readers from enjoying diverse literature is the lack of availability. Reading is a powerful tool that can enhance our knowledge and appreciation of different cultures, as many studies have shown (source: American Psychological Association). However, when books from other countries are not easily accessible, we miss out on this opportunity to learn and grow. Therefore, it is vital to address this issue and promote access to diverse literature for American readers.

We appeal to the publishers of Disney Publishing Worldwide to either update the readers about the expected US release dates of the mentioned books and in the A Twisted Tale series or import them from UK and Australia. We want to make these captivating stories accessible to more readers in America who have been missing out on the magic that have already captured hearts in other parts of the world.

Please sign this petition if you believe in promoting literary diversity and making A Twisted Tale available for all US readers.
