I write this petition as a 100% permanent & total (P&T) disabled veteran. I have experienced Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) among other issues after deploying twice with the Louisiana Army National Guard and being medically retired in 2013. The hardship is deepened by the fact that my enrollment in the VA disability program is financially burdensome, detrimentally devouring the retirement I've earned.

Over 50,000 combat-injured veterans like me are wronged due to inadequate provisions to cater to our injuries. Over 350 cosponsors have agreed to support The Major Richard Star Act, alongside 73 senators. Despite the majority backing the bill that will aid us, it has not been brought to the floor to be voted on.

We are calling for legislators to urgently bring this crucial bill, the Major Richard Star Act, to the floor for voting. This piece of legislation would provide considerable relief to thousands of veterans who suffer injuries from their line of duty. We pay for our VA disability from what should've been our retirement - this situation profoundly contradicts the principles of fairness on which this great nation stands.

This appeal is not just about us as individuals, it's about the principles our great country values - fairness, respect for service, and duty. It's high time we corrected this wrong. Please support our cause and bring the Major Richard Star Act to the floor for voting.
