Our coach has been suspended for reasons out of her control. The union has decided that she can no longer attend training sessions and coach us due to unforeseen circumstances.

Nothing was previously mentioned or put in writing thats states that Abby cannot coach outside of her cheerleading qualification. The union were supposed to create a “coaches handbook” at the start of the year that includes all the information that she would need in order for her to know the “rules” that the union has in place for coaches. Therefore there was no way of her knowing that she could not coach outside of the levels she has learned to coach. 

I would also like to mention that all “Active @ Brunel” sessions are student led. None of the students leading active sessions have coaching qualifications, making this a bit confusing as to who is allowed to coach and who is not. 

Lastly, Abby is so important to the success and development of all of our Blizzards teams. She puts her heart into coaching us and has been a part of Brunel Blizzards Cheerleading for five years now. Her coaching and support is like no other, and she is always there for any student that she coaches. She has shaped us all into being the amazing athletes we are today and we hope that she can carry on doing this.
