Beloved members of our community, Hayam El Gamal and her five children, have been subject to degradation, loss, and fear, living in what is essentially a jail, the Dilley Processing Detention Center, for over four months now. They are innocent. We know them as joyful classmates, brilliant students, faithful team members, kind playmates, and hospitable neighbors. The children, aged four to eighteen, are full of promise. Their mother is known for her goodness. We miss them, and want them back, safe and whole. We are united in asking for the immediate release of Hayam El Gamal and her five children. 

Update (1/27/26): This family has now been detained at Dilley for a record-breaking eight months. The youngest children are now five years old and have spent roughly one fifth of their lives in this internment camp.
