Bring MuppetVision 3D to Disney+

The Issue

We are calling on Disney+ to add MuppetVision 3D* to its streaming library.

MuppetVision 3D* is more than just a quirky attraction at Hollywood Studios—it’s a beloved piece of Disney and Muppet history. For many of us, it was one of the main reasons to visit the park. It captures the magic, humor, and heart of the Muppets in a way that deserves to be preserved and shared with future generations.

The show debuted on May 16, 1991—exactly one year after the passing of the legendary Jim Henson—and remains the final project he personally worked on.

Jim Henson and his creative team at The Jim Henson Company began developing MuppetVision 3D* in the late 1980s, as part of a broader collaboration with Disney that would have brought the Muppets more fully into the Disney family. While Henson’s unexpected death in 1990 paused those larger plans, MuppetVision 3D* remained a completed labor of love, featuring original performances by Henson (as Kermit the Frog and Waldorf) and Richard Hunt. It was one of the last times fans could see the original Muppet performers in their iconic roles, captured in a theme park experience that combined 3D film, animatronics, in-theater effects, and classic Muppet-style chaos.

For fans like my sister and me, this show has been a part of our lives since childhood. Its characters, jokes, and nostalgia still resonate with us—and with so many others. While we may no longer be able to visit the Muppets Courtyard or grab a slice at the iconic PizzeRizzo, we should still have the chance to enjoy and celebrate this unique piece of Muppet history.

Making MuppetVision 3D* available on Disney+ would allow fans everywhere to relive the experience—and introduce it to new audiences who may never get to see it in person.
