Bring Mobile Signal to Ystradfellte: A Necessity for Locals and Tourists Alike

The Issue

As a resident of, or visitor to Ystradfellte, I'm calling on the Welsh government to provide reliable mobile phone signal to the village. With over 200,000 tourists visiting our Waterfalls Area in the BBNP each year, it's imperative that we have access to modern communication infrastructure.

*The Problem:*

Currently, our small village suffers from a lack of mobile signal, making it difficult for locals and tourists to stay connected, call emergency services, use GPS, access important information, and enjoy their stay. A BBNP visitor survey in 2016/17 stated that mobile phone reception was one of the areas that visitors would like to be improved. It’s 2025 and nothing has changed, except there are even more visitors now.

*The Solution:*

We urge the government to work with mobile network providers to install necessary infrastructure to provide reliable mobile signal to our village as soon as possible.

*Why it Matters:*

Mobile signal would not only improve the quality of life for locals by reducing excess traffic due to disoriented tourists driving and walking around lost, but also enhance the tourist experience, supporting local businesses and the local economy. It would also mean farmers being more easily contactable when out away from their farms, make it easier for delivery companies and emergency services to reach their intended destinations.

*Call to Action:*

We, the undersigned, call on the Welsh government to take immediate action to provide mobile signal to Ystradfellte.
