Bring Metal Gear Online 2 Back With Metal Gear Solid 4

With Metal Gear Solid 4 finally returning as part of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, many fans are incredibly excited to revisit one of the most important games in the series and what is the last missing link in the franchise for many. 

But one major part of MGS4 is still missing:

Metal Gear Online 2.

MGO2 originally launched alongside Metal Gear Solid 4 and became a huge part of the experience for many players. Its official servers were eventually shut down, but more than a decade later, there is still a dedicated community playing and preserving the game.

Projects such as SaveMGO have demonstrated that the passion for Metal Gear Online never disappeared. Their community has spent years keeping MGO2 alive through fan-operated servers, allowing people to continue experiencing a multiplayer game that otherwise could have been lost.

We understand that restoring MGO2 officially may not be simple.

This petition is not based on the expectation that a collection of signatures will suddenly make Konami rebuild the game overnight.

Instead, we want to demonstrate something much simpler:

There is still demand for Metal Gear Online 2.

We are asking Konami to consider bringing MGO2 back in some form.

That could mean:

• Restoring Metal Gear Online 2 as part of Metal Gear Solid 4 in Master Collection Vol. 2.
• Adding it through a future update or expansion.
• Releasing MGO2 separately.
• Or even opening a dialogue with the SaveMGO team and the community that has already spent years preserving the game.

Metal Gear Solid 4 returning to modern platforms is something fans have wanted for years, and we genuinely appreciate seeing such an important part of the series become accessible again.  Especially since Peacewalker is getting it's Co-op mode. 

We simply don't want its multiplayer history to be forgotten.

For many players, MGO2 wasn't just an additional mode attached to MGS4. It was a unique multiplayer experience with its own mechanics, community, modes and identity, it even produced Machinimas back in the day! 

And there still isn't really anything else like it in the world of modern multiplayer games. 

Maybe this petition changes nothing.

But if enough people sign it, we can at least show Konami that there is a community ready and waiting to play Metal Gear Online 2 again.
