An email has been sent to Mr.Spangler and I am currently waiting on a response. The following is the contents of what was said in the email I sent to represent the citizens of Bledsoe County.

Dear Mr. Spangler,

I am writing to formally present a highly lucrative market expansion opportunity for Food City within the Sequatchie Valley. There is a critical, unserved gap in your current regional footprint that represents an immediate, high-volume revenue stream: Pikeville and Bledsoe County, Tennessee.

While Pikeville’s city-center population is modest, the store would serve as the primary, dominant grocery anchor for the broader Bledsoe County population of over 15,000 residents. Currently, our community suffers from massive retail leakage. Thousands of local families routinely drive 25 to 30 minutes down Highway 30 to your Dayton location or up Highway 127 to your Crossville stores to fulfill their full-service grocery and pharmacy needs.

By establishing a mid-format or standard Food City location along the highly visible US-127 Bypass corridor in Pikeville, K-VA-T Food Stores can capture this captive, brand-loyal market on day one.

A Pikeville location offers several distinct advantages that perfectly align with Food City’s corporate strategy and bottom-line metrics:

  1. Zero Corporate Competition: There are no full-service, national-chain corporate supermarkets operating within Bledsoe County. Food City would instantly secure absolute market dominance.
  2. Turnkey Logistics Integration: Your distribution network already heavily blankets this pocket of East Tennessee. Food City supply trucks regularly travel near or through our transit corridors to service existing stores in Crossville, Dayton, and Dunlap. Adding Pikeville introduces virtually no logistical strain or route expansion; it efficiently closes a geographical loop.
  3. High-Margin Tourist Revenue: Pikeville sits as a primary gateway to Fall Creek Falls State Park, which draws hundreds of thousands of recreational visitors annually. A store equipped with a Gas 'N Go fuel center, a premium hot-food deli, and camping supply lines would capture massive, high-margin seasonal spending from out-of-town travelers who currently buy their provisions outside our county borders.
  4. Municipal Support and Low Acquisition Costs: Commercial acreage along the US-127 Bypass is exceptionally cost-effective compared to suburban or metropolitan tracts. Furthermore, our community leadership and economic development sectors are highly motivated to keep tax dollars local. The county is eager to discuss localized infrastructure coordination, streamlined permitting, and developer incentives to accelerate your return on investment.

We have already mobilized a strong community initiative, gathering substantial local signatures from 703+ residents pledging their immediate and long-term patronage to a Pikeville Food City.

We respectfully request that your real estate and site acquisition team review the demographics and traffic counts for the US-127 Bypass in Pikeville. I welcome the opportunity to connect your office with our local county executives and commercial property stakeholders to review available parcels.

Thank you for your time, consideration, and your ongoing commitment to serving communities across the region.
