Downtown Corvallis is known for being highly walkable and bike-friendly. But there is next to no blueprint for any other modes of transport. 

Electric scooters present an eco-friendly, fun and safe solution for commuters, community members and visitors alike. 

In March, the city of Albany, Oregon approved a 1-year trial of the scooters in its historic downtown district. Corvallis should do the same.

It will increase downtown activity and create a financial boost for downtown businesses and the tourist economy. Students from Oregon State University will enjoy this mode of transport and spend more time in the town. Electric scooters will also take pressure off the Corvallis Transit System's current bus driver shortages. 

We call on the City of Corvallis to approve a 1-year pilot program of Bird electric scooters in the historic downtown district with the interest of creating a more accessible town for its community.
